This is my best friend Renee. We are shooting this in my living room. All blinds and doors were closed to give us as much darkness behind me as possible. The window that you see behind her, the blinds were only half open which actually bought a lot of light in. Renee is sitting on top of two bean bags which made her side inline with the window sill so we didn't have a light of dark anywhere on her face. The cloudy soft box light of the sky is coming in from the top of the window coming down onto the top of her head.
It could almost be a back lit portrait but I don't think that it would be a good example of that. I think that in the green colour of the plants in the background in the first picture is actually distracting this is probably why I like the black and white picture better.
In this picture she is actually taking a picture of me on her phone because she thought that my pose while taking this shot was funny so she is laughing at the picture that she is taking on her phone. I thought that this photo really portrayed her laugh and how we are around each other. I have placed the colour and black and white version because I like both versions and couldn't pick which on to put on.
